Our AABB-accredited Immunohematology Reference Laboratory (IRL) provides: 

• ABO and Rh typing, including resolution of discrepancies
• Detection and identification of red cell antibodies
• Compatibility testing
• Direct Antiglobulin Testing (DAT)
• Elution studies
• Antibody titrations
• Antibody neutralizations
• Enzyme-treatment of red cells, for antibody identification and adsorptions
• Use of reducing agents
• Cell separation
• Immunoglobulin removal from red blood cells
• Autologous and allogeneic adsorptions
• Red cell antigen typings
• Transfusion reaction investigations
• Provision of HLA-selected platelet pheresis products
• Hospital inventory searching for historically antigen negative units

With a team of laboratory staff members that includes certified specialists in blood banking (SBB), customer support is available from highly-trained lab technologists, with on-call technologists available after-hours and on holidays.
