Our amazing volunteer blood donors make it possible for Kentucky Blood Center to provide 400 pints of life-giving blood every day to nearly 70 Kentucky hospitals.
Blood drives are the backbone of our donor system, providing more than 60% of the blood we send to hospitals. Blood drives are organized and hosted by volunteers at businesses, churches, schools and community centers.
KBC needs about 100,000 volunteer blood donors per year to meet the demands for blood from our hospitals. As there is no substitute for human blood – no laboratory-made alternative – blood must be collected pint by pint from people like yourself.
Find a local blood drive and sign up to donate. On the day of your donation, you can answer your required health history questions before coming to the donation location using QuickPass.
