The selfless participation of our blood donors makes it possible for Kentucky Blood Center to provide 400 pints of life-giving blood every day to nearly 70 Kentucky hospitals.
Your participation in blood drives makes it possible for us to collect this much-needed supply of blood. Blood drives are the backbone of our donor system, providing more than 60 % of the blood we send to hospitals. These blood drives are organized and hosted by volunteers at businesses, churches, schools and community centers.
KBC requires about 100,000 volunteer blood donors per year to meet the demands for blood from our hospitals. As there is no substitute for human blood, no laboratory-made alternative, blood must be collected pint by pint from people like yourself.
