Traditional Bank, KBC Partner to Tackle Blood Shortage

Two community-based “banks” are coming together to put blood on the shelves during a national and local blood supply shortage.

Traditional Bank and Kentucky Blood Center — the largest Food and Drug Administration-licensed blood bank headquartered in the Commonwealth — are encouraging Kentuckians to roll up their sleeves and visit one of KBC’s six blood centers or community drives to help save lives.

Every day, KBC needs more than 400 people to donate blood to supply services in 90 Kentucky counties. Every unit of blood donated with KBC stays in Kentucky for local patients in more than 70 hospitals.

Traditional Bank has 16 full-service banking centers in six Kentucky counties and a loan production office in Louisville. This year marks Traditional Bank’s 120th anniversary.

To schedule a donation at one of the six KBC donor centers or to find a local drive near you, visit kybloodcenter.org or call 800.775.2522.
