Even after 50 years of being a loyal donor, it never occurred to Dwight Webster that it would be him at the other end of the blood bag.
Dwight was busy heading up a relatively new ministry in Nancy, Kentucky, in early 2022 when a routine doctor’s visit suddenly led a cardiac catheterization and then open-heart surgery two weeks later.
“You never know,” said Dwight, a platelet donor with Kentucky Blood Center since 2020. “You could say, ‘Well, why should I give?’ Well, you may be one who needs it. I mean, I didn’t know I would need it, and suddenly I did.”
