Get a Cats’-eye view of UK’s home court when you donate blood at the 6th annual blood drive at Rupp Arena: Monday, Jan. 22. Donors will get to take shots on the same floor where so many basketball legends have delivered the thrill of victory to the Big Blue Nation.
Donate blood, and you’ll receive a commemorative Big Blue Slam T-shirt, perfect for showing your Wildcat pride during basketball season.
Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones will broadcast live from the Rupp Arena drive from 10 a.m. – noon.
Those of you who made your second Bleed Blue Donor Club donation during Big Blue Crush are just one donation away from earning your blue Tervis tumbler. You’ll get it when you donate during Big Blue Slam at a donor center, UK campus drive or Rupp Arena.
Big Blue Slam is a friendly competition between the blood donors of Kentucky and Florida. It’s a fun tradition, but most importantly, Slam donations help ensure enough blood is on the shelves for the thousands of Kentucky and Florida patients who will require transfusions during the winter. Kentucky won last year and leads the competition, 5 to 4.
